URGENT Appointments

If you feel you need an Urgent Appointment, Please ring the surgery at 8am; You will then be triaged to ensure you receive the most appropriate care this could be any of the  following; Triage appointment with ANP (Tuesdays only), Telephone Consultation with Dr Perkins, Appointment with the Enhanced Access Clinic ,Local Services Referral to pharmacy.  

Appointments can be made for any of the services we offer by speaking to the receptionist either in person or by telephone during our opening hours.       

Telephone appointments with Dr Perkins are currently booked on the day.  Please contact the surgery after 8am, Monday to Friday.

Routine Appointments 

Advanced Nurse Practitioner – routine appointments can be booked 8 weeks in advance. 

HCA – routine appointments can be booked 8 weeks in advance. 

Practice Nurse - routine appointments can be booked 8 weeks in advance. 

Occasionally it may become necessary to cancel appointments made so far in advance due to staff attending training courses, annual leave, staff sickness etc.

Please note – Occasionally Dr Perkins and the Practice Nurse have medical, nursing or healthcare students observing in the surgery or in the clinics. This is an important part of their training programme. You will be given the opportunity to decline the student’s presence during your consultation should you prefer to be seen alone.

Telephone Consultations / Triage

Although we do not have specific times for telephone consultations if your query can be dealt with over the phone it may be possible for you to speak to either the practice nurse or Dr Perkins.

Please contact reception and give brief details of your query and your contact number.

Dr Perkins, the practice nurse or a member of the practice will ring you back with the reply to your query.

Important Information

Patients who are more than 10 minutes late for their appointment with any member of the Practice Team may NOT BE SEEN. They may be requested to make another appointment.

The Practice is currently updating the policy for dealing with missed appointments. Details will be added on completion of the policy.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can do this by ringing the surgery on 0161 271 3140 or email p85608.perkinspractice@nhs.net 

Appointments to see Dr Perkins may also be made, or cancelled, at any time of the day or night over the internet by registering to use Patient Access. Contact reception for more information on how to register for Patient Access.
